Gideon Koren is the founding partner of GKL. Gideon practices diverse fields of the law with an emphasis on Commercial and Contract Law, Private International Law, International Inheritance Law, Media and Entertainment Law, Labor Law, Intellectual Property Law, Real Estate Law, Administrative and Constitutional Law, Environmental Preservation Law, Trust and Estate Planning as well as Commercial and Civil Litigation.
Gideon received his LL.B. (1984) and his LL.M. (Hon.) (1987) from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
During his academic studies Gideon served as the Chairman of The Law Faculty Student's Union.
He was admitted to the Israel Bar Association in 1987 after completing his articles with the Israeli Supreme Court judge Gabriel Bach, as well as with one of Jerusalem's leading law firms, where he continued to work for a few years as an associate, before becoming a self employed attorney.
Over the years Gideon has held several teaching positions and he still lecturers today in various Academic and professional forums. He served as an Adjunct teacher in The Hebrew University of Jerusalem law faculty on Contract Law, Civil Litigation as well as Media & Communication Laws. Gideon has also held teaching position in Bezalel Academy of Art & Design in Jerusalem and the Sam Spiegel film & television school in Jerusalem. Over the last few years Gideon has focused on teaching non legal students, mainly on preservation laws. He is an adjunct teacher in the Israeli Technion and The Tel Aviv University.
Gideon holds many voluntary positions. Among others, he currently serves as the Executive committee member of ICOMOS (The International Council on Monuments & Sites). Within ICOMOS he also serves as the President of ICOMOS Israel and the President of ICLAFI – ICOMOS International scientific committee on legal, administrative & financial issues. Gideon is also the inaugurator & former chairman of the Jerusalem chapter of STEP (Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners).
Gideon is fluent in Hebrew and English and speaks German.
